1. moving the vsc goalposts. from the great saviour to keeping the lights on. a job it hasn't been doing too well.

all the multitudinous theories about the future. all the rationalising of nodding sages. the same nodding sages agreeing with one another as they have always done.

the subject of the nodding moves from one product to another without a pause. from tpm to seds, from pc to mobile, from eras to vsc. from vsc to something new.

but where are the numbers to make sense of it all? what do customers say? what does their speech tell us?

so far, they mostly say this. no thanks.

if wave delivers yeses, then solms approach will be vindicated. until then, i guess the nodding continues.

2. or put another way, wave is a dilution stage company.

if you haven't spotted or been able to explain the terrain that has made progress so difficult, you have no claim on being right about much of anything.

and indeed, to this point, the signs of progress for hardware-based security are meagre in the enterprise market. for myself, i only count actual achievements. last major revenue event was gm apparently dropping wave. the one before that was the loss of dell as an income source.

3. Far as I can tell, you are talking about taxable gains and losses.

Everyone can see that a person who has held Wave stock since the top has lost the prior value of their investment almost entirely.

A unit of Wave's stock isn't worth $600 right now. It doesn't matter if you sell it or hold it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings.

Magic future values based on unicorns galloping out of the forest don't mean very much.
