Good Morning Clo!

I don't know the answer to your question.

I served in the Army almost fifty years ago. In the midst of a war that claimed 57.000 American boys. I was incredibly lucky. I was stationed in South Carolina, Georgia, and the District of Columbia.

One day in Georgia when I was an MP I went to a building called Graves Registration. I walked into a room full of body bags. Limed bodies of American kids being sent home to their Mom's and wives, and girlfriends. Half a century later I smell that room every day.

We cannot solve the problems of the Kurds, the Shias, the Sunnis, the Palestinian, or the Houthis.
A prospective solution requiring American boys to die is an abomination. A few will die and then a few more and then a few more. And then more kids like me will stare at body bags.

Old men in old uniforms medals on their chests will march down every Main Street. Bands will play. And they will be forgotten and the memory of their dead comrades will fade away.

I watch John Kerry sitting with those Persian dilettantes sitting in those fancy silk shirts, without ties.
I wonder how in God's name my country can sit at tables with these animals for a decade proposing a peace that is yet to come.

People who threaten war have not lived it.
