A man asked my friend's little son what he wanted to be when he grows up.he said he wanted to be Prime Minister some day.
Both his parents, supporters of Socialism, were standing there, so the man asked him, "If you were Prime Minister what would be the first thing you would do?" he replied, "I'd use the government money and give food and houses to all those poor people on benefits." His parents beamed from ear to ear, and said, "Welcome to the Socialist camp!"
"That's a worthy goal!" the man told him, and continued, "But you don't have to wait until you're Prime Minister to do that. You can come over to my house, mow the lawn, pull weeds, sweep my drive and I'll pay you £25. Then I'll take you over to that homeless chap who hangs out in front of the store. You can give him the £25 to use toward his food."
The little boy thought that over for a few seconds, then he looked at the man straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless man come over and do the work himself and you can just pay him the £25?"
The man said to the little boy "welcome to the capitalist camp". And his parents aren't still speaking to that man.
