When you provide freedom in that neck of the woods, you release fundamentalist Islam.

The question is, when you offer freedom to Moslems anywhere, is it not also true that you find yourself dealing with people intent on imposing sharia on everyone else? and doing so by violence?

It's never all Moslems. It's always too many.

Funny to think how peaceful Iraq used to be. Relatively-speaking.

Does this mean Saddam's tyranny is vindicated?

The occasional gassing of a town. Yes. The odd extremist thrown into a sausage machine.

But in relative nasty terms, he was a lot better than Isis with its crucifictions, beheadings, genocides etc; and life was more peaceful than during the US conquest and insurgency.

Good grief. What an awful spectrum folks live along down there.

How naive we were.
