Philippians 2:2-3 (KJV)
Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Obviously the Apostle Paul is telling the Philippian Church and members of it not to do ANYTHING with the wrong ATTITUDE or purpose that brings glory to themselves, but rather to do all things for the Glory of the only one who is worthy of praise and Glory, The Lord Jesus!
He also has told us that inside the family, (the family of Christ and body of Christ, which is found in the Church), to CHECK YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR. ESTEEM everyone else to be BETTER THAN YOU, which leads to humbleness and humility!
You do not need to toot your own horn. Your fruits will be evident and they will be because you have been faithful to Christ, and HE has given the fruit to your account.
Don't be a chest thumper or one who seeks attention. Go with the spirit of meekness and humility, which is the same spirit (temperament) that Jesus had, and HE was GOD in the FLESH. WHAT an example..........
