Yes, it sprinkled this morning before Mass and at about 2 PM it started to rain in a bit more steady. Right now it's coming down pretty good.
As for the comment about speaking English, remember that a large number of the 'illegal' Hispanics here are the so-called 'Dreamers' who were brought here as young children and who have been going to school as if they had been born here. Most of them speak pretty damn good English since it's really the only language in which they've ever been formally trained. To many of them, Spanish is now the 'foreign' language.
And as for those 1.5 million illegal Asians, what language do you think they were speaking when they arrived? I'll bet most of them had to learn English and I suspect that many of the older people haven't learned all that much English. There are extensive Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Philippine communities here in SoCal where many adults can live their lives with needing only a limited English vocabulary. Granted, their children will learn English, but then that's the norm for any immigrant population, whether they're legal or otherwise. I went to college with a guy who was born in New York City but he never heard a word of English until be went to school. For all intents and purposes, when he walked into school that first day, he might as well have just gotten off the boat. Even years later, when he was in engineering school, he still spoke with an Italian accent and had to take the remedial English courses since he couldn't pass the composition part of the entrance exam, He was treated as if he were a foreign student yet he was just as much a native born American as I was.
