Leslie Gore!
We grew up with “Little' Leslie Gore during a time just before the Beatles swept America away back in 1964.
Leslie was just a kid when she was so popular back then and we all loved her sweet and simple music during a time just before John Kennedy was shot and the world turned upside down. Judy's Turn to Cry became all of our turns on that day in Dallas when so much changed for everyone, whether they knew it or not.
We always thought that Leslie might live for a very long time because we always remembered her as the sweet voice of a time that so many wish would return once again to sweep all of our troubles away. But, she is dead at 68 and we are all older now even though we will always have her sweet smile and beautiful sound to accompany us along the way to our own eventual reward.
Both the music world and the greater world at large are saddened tonight.
