It is a rights issue.

It is a social issue only for some.

Years ago we had no civil marriages, only religious. Now we do. Do you think getting married in Vegas by a charleton is a real marriage? Is that marriage in your book? Is that equal to a church marriage?

Start dealing with those questions before you touch civil rights.

OCU/Clo:

Marriage is a controversial subject, an institution that's been with us for centuries. Much thought should be expended before we change marriage, simply to be fair to gay people. It is a gay issue, but perhaps more importantly, it is a societal issue.

BTW, Our society isn't doing all that well lately.
