BAP,

They did cataract surgery on this eye last week - wouldn't have really needed that if it weren't for the surgery next week.

I have what's called a macular hole. They will do a vitrectomy to repair it. If you have even the beginning of a cataract, the surgery will make it get rapidly worse - so they go in and do the cataract surgery before they do the vitrectomy. That also helps give the surgeon a clear view inside the eye for the vitrectomy.

They have about a 90% success rate with it.

Hello NewSunR.

I recently had a followup to my eye surgery of two years back. Cataracts. Great results but don't know if that's what you had?
