Despite overwhelming support in both Bible Belt states for traditional marriage, attorneys with Liberty Counsel are frustrated that a few judges’ opinions on the matter will take precedence over those from millions of citizens.
“At issue is whether the democratic vote of 5 million Floridians defining marriage as between one man and one woman will be respected, or whether marriage will be redefined by the court as between an undefined group of people who are ‘committed’ to each other based upon an ‘emotional bond,’” explained attorneys with Liberty Counsel, a nonprofit pro-family organization based in Orlando, Fla.
