...Radio Shack failed to change with the times. The first thing I ever got from them was a Crystal radio ya put together yourself. I could only pick up one station. I would sneak it out at night and listen to it til I fell asleep. I thought that working in a radio shack would be the best of all worlds.

I've brought a lot of batteries, wire, solder, light bulbs, tools and other electrical bits and pieces over the years.

I stopped last week at our local Radio Shack to buy a short (3 foot) HDMI cable and the shelves were almost empty (they didn't have what I wanted). When I asked about the lack of inventory, the clerk said that managers from some of the other stores in the area had been in the day before and had taken stuff that they needed for their stores. They're eating their own.

I'm going to miss them.
