Unfortunately, our product's performance has always been buried instead the numbers of a much larger parent, first MDC then EDS and now Siemens (we were a privately listed company, on the NYSE, for about two years between a couple of our mergers/acquisitions, that's the only time our stock price reflected what WE DID). Of course there are times when it't good that you're part of a company with deep pockets or other times when you're not linked to the performance of people other than yourselves, like when we were owned by a consortium of venture capitalists during one of the market turndowns.
As for Dassault, they're our most important competitor, but we've managed to eat-their-lunch a few times these past couple of years, like when we re-won a full company-wide benchmark at GM when Dassault was making a big effort to displace us there, or when we displaced Catia (Dassault's high-end enterprise level PLM offering) at Chrysler and later that same year, at Daimler (AKA Mercedes Benz). Also, about 8 or 9 years ago, Dassault basically walked away from the shipbuilding industry, which we've managed to pick-up most all of their old accounts. Now if we can just win BMW and VW/Audi, that would put frosting on the cake.
