You never know, although I have to say that it's hard to believe that there was a lack a evidence that he had shot the police chief. After all, the chief was in the hospital with wounds to his arm, there was a bulletproof vest with three shots in it and 4 other witnesses. Exactly what does it take for the Oklahoma state investigators to say there was sufficient evidence? Wanna bet that they would have found enough evidence if this was the other way round, if it were a white police chief being shot at by a black homeowner? Of course that's probably a moot point since in that situation I doubt if the 4 deputies would have stood there with their thumbs up their asses as it appears they did in this case.
