Nemo,
I'm sure that it is nice. Saves you a lot of money.
But, how many hurricanes or hail storms will the
panels survive?

You still need propane.

And, for America as a whole, how many panels would it take just to power one small factory?

I have been living in a 5th wheel for a few years and I get the harbor freights solar kit with everything but the battery's. They work great, and with inverter I really dont need to be on the grid. Propane fridge and water heater. These work great. I even put them in my last 2 houses. I wired in 12 volt lighting in both and used these panels just for lighting and small things with the little inverter I installed.
