I have been living in a 5th wheel for a few years and I get the harbor freights solar kit with everything but the battery's. They work great, and with inverter I really dont need to be on the grid. Propane fridge and water heater. These work great. I even put them in my last 2 houses. I wired in 12 volt lighting in both and used these panels just for lighting and small things with the little inverter I installed.

and they on sale right now,

Realist - Everybody in America is soft, and hates conflict. The cure for this, both in politics and social life, is the same -- hardihood. Give them raw truth.

Nemo> Thats great . I am a solar fan, just cant figure why it is so hard to really get this going.

1.) Solar watts are expensive compared to other generation sources.

2.) Solar requires two sets of electrical generation.
. . .The cells and inverters, and the means to make
. . .watts at night.

3.) Solar panels are somewhat fragile - especially
. . .when compared to the average nuke plant.

4.) While I'm pretty sure one could plant enough
. . solar panels in Nevada to power new York city . .
. . one can not get the watts from Nevada to new York.

5.) Where you try to put enough solar panels to make
. . the watts . . one can not grow food crops or trees.

Now, I do think we should be putting solar panels on
roof tops. With an eye towards replacing expensive
peak demand watts with not so expensive solar watts.
