but under turkish rules, i might say "your religion insults me so you can't publish it here." and so on.
we define certain areas in which various societies exclude or offer remedies for certain sorts of speech, including things like paedophile literature, racial hate speech.
but this list excludes religion. it is valuable to us to criticise religion. we can't flatter our way to a peaceful model of islam. we have to use all the tools available to challenge it.
