ArVee the driver I tried to install is named almost the same as the one you gave me. I think I have XP-32bit, but tried 64 also. The install hung at the system compatibility check.

Your driver is from the same NVIDIA site but slightly different. Yours passed the system compatibility check and is now stopped with this message:

"The software you are installing for this hardware NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. Continuing your installation may impair or destabilize the correct operation of your system. Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this install ...blah blah blah."

I called EVGA but they are closed for the holidays. I haven't called NVIDIA.

BAP I don't understand what you mean when you say the drivers you tried "won't install."

Here's a direct link to 327.23. assuming you're running a 32-bit OS:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/win8-win7-winvista-32bit-327.23-whql-driver.html

Don't let the fact that xp isn't in there bother you; xp isn't officially supported anymore.
Click the download button and then run it.

IF perchance you're running a 64-bit system then just edit the link to change 32 to 64.
