He refused to pay and tne insurance finally picked up the tab, so she says that I surance companies are not doing their job well, either. She says that tests and scans are the primary income for hospitals, and the prices are ARBITRARY. And they are not listed anywhere. When they were wheeling the guy into the OR, they had him sign a paper that a certain scan during surgery was not covered by his insurance and that he had to sign he'd pay for it himself. What does one do in that circumstance? It is blackmail.
And the assholes in DC argue about what instead of how to fix all these ills? No wonder the health system is so expensive. We have labels on food about calories but not a way of knowing the costs of surgery BEFOREHAND!
Doctors and hospitals are some of the most legitimate crooks in America. They are fleecing us. They don't a fk about anything other than getting paid what they feel like getting paid, and the system allows them to be that way.
