russia's idea of moving itself and everyone else away from the dollar looks doomed as the rouble collapses.

who would want to write a future in a currency backed only by the value of oil. or gold for that matter.

the us currency seems to be where folks fly to quality. this regardless of some folks' worries of its fiat nature. But look at the facts where they count. when the chips are down, the rouble collapses. what we learnt in 2008 is that the dollar doesn't.

and the best news of all is how the oil-financed football teams are not going to be at all happy.
