Most insurance is written as a master policy which includes all things that the coverage will pay for. Policies are not written to tailor to individsuals per se, but, rather, to everyone who is in the group. Since most insurance is not written to cover pregnancies anyway, we rather doubt that Ribit has any pregnancy coverage for his spouse. As far as the sex change goes, any sex for Ribit would be a change.

To say that "God exists" is the greatest understatement ever made across space and time.

Now, I am interested and very curious.

Can you point, if you have the time, where this rule is mentioned? Perhaps type here what if any documentation you received says about it, from your insurance.

I agree that no one should pay for what they don't want, but that could be worked on later on when everything is rolling along, if possible. In the end, it will all come down to how much one pays and what one gets in return that will determine the need for changes like that, again, if possible. That won't be known until a couple of years from now.
