I amended my hospital payment, too many numbers this late in the day.

With Empire Blue, the maximum out of pocket would be $6,700 per year.

FYI: in 1991 when I had cancer & shitty insurance, the use of the Operating room was $5,000, my anesthesiologist cost about the same, my oncologist forgave $6,000 of his bill when he learned of the shitty coverage I had. Plus the assistant doctor & the hospital costs & medications etc.

I paid the hospital $100 a month for 3 years.
And made payments to the others.

At the time I paid $300.00 a month for insurance & it covered a percentage of the nationwide median. Obviously NY is at the top, so the coverage was skimpy, but at least I had some protection.

...if you have to have a $100,000 operation, medicare may pay 80% of it. Whatever they don't pay you are responsible for. If you don't have a supplemental that pays $20,000 it's yours to pay. You 'silver sneakers' membership is useless.
