First things first: it's been done before by most other Presidents, and specially Republcans, so that's not an issue unless you are stupid and a winger.
But, beyond that, the one thing I can agree with, and which the Republican Congress had a chance to agree and vote on and for is the Dreamers. They are American kids, period. They grew up here and have an American conscience. There is no other place for them.
Beyond that, I can also agree on keeping their parents here, and allow them to work.
Nothing more than that , though. No amnesty, no green cards, no nothing. There are literally millions of people around the world waiting in lne to get here, and I am pissed that these line jumpers could get a jump ahead of everyone else. It is UNNACCEPTABLE.
So, so long as the President stays within these borders, I will be OK and satisfied for solving one part of a burning problem. The republicans should suck it up and get to work immediately with a full solution, securing the border further, no work for anyone without a WORK CARD, and a permanent solution to those with work permits who jumped the line.
If all that gets done, our immigration problem will be solved for good. I just don't want all of Latin America south of our border to end up here. We have quota in this country. We can't turn it into a Latin nation where we have to speak Spanish to get a job or get a licence. I got nothing against the Latins, I just don't want them to overwhelm us all just as I don't want "Christians" to set their religious agenda on everyone else. I want pluralism. I want everyone equal to everyone else and no one imposing their shit, whatever it is on the rest.
If what I outlined above gets done by the inbreds in Washington, we'll be good to go. The President has the power to do those things, and the Congress the responsibility to take over and finish the job.
