220,000 tons! This figure is staggering. I size it up by picturing my car in my driveway; it weighs about 2 tons. Soo, the amount of snow in the stadium is equal to about 110,000 cars piled up there. I dunno..

Excerpted from Markerwatch:

Love your football team? Time to put your shovel where your heart is.

Amid forecasts that Buffalo, New York could see one year’s worth of snow over three days in the first snowstorm of the season, the city’s beloved NFL team has taken to extreme measures to clear its hallowed playing grounds in time for Sunday’s big game — kickoff time, 1 p.m. Eastern. An eye-popping 220,000 tons of snow has been dumped on the Ralph Wilson Stadium, enough to fill the team’s fieldhouse eight times over, says the Bills.

“We have not had this much snow as far as we know in the history of our team,” said Andy Major, the Bills’s vice-president of operations and guest experience, in a news release. “It might take three days or so to remove one foot of snow before a game, and now we’ve got four feet of snow on a 200-acre site, where there’s potential for more coming. So right there, it gives you the magnitude.”
