Walker, Burke tied among likely voters in latest MU poll
By Lee Bergquist of the Journal Sentinel
With less than three weeks to go before election day, Democrat Mary Burke and Republican Gov. Scott Walker are tied among likely voters, according to the latest Marquette University Law School poll.
Burke eliminated Walker's 5-point lead among likely voters in the Marquette poll two weeks ago.
The latest poll shows Walker and Burke each with 47% of the vote among likely voters.
Walker led Burke among registered voters, 48%-45%.
Among independent voters, Burke led 45%-44%. That's a drop for Walker. Two weeks ago, Walker led 53%-40% among independent voters.
"That's a pretty substantial shift," said Charles Franklin, the poll's director.
