Turkey is a member of NATO and as such has already had to make certain commitments and concessions with respect to how it works with other NATO members.
Turkish bases could get tricky. Remember, retaining U.S. bases in Saudi Arabia after the Gulf War ignited Al Qaeda. Not sure how the Muslim World will view 'Crusader' military bases in Turkey, on top of all of Obama's other misguided adventures in the Middle East.
