The guy I work with, his family's heritage is German-Jew. His ancestors came from Germany in the late 19th century during one of the frequent pogroms that ravaged Europe during those times. He said it was ironic that after WWII many Nazis and other Germans came to Argentina and while they found a well established German sub-culture, it was basically Jewish. I guess a lot of Italians came as well.
This is what happened in Australia where a lot of South Africans ended up after apartheid and white-rule ended there.
