Notice that when it comes to war and spending billions for bombs and missiles, the Republicans never even once suggested that we needed 'offsets' to pay for it. But mention increasing aid to the poor in this country and suddenly our nation, as we know it, is threatened with destruction unless we 'offset' every single dollar that it might cost.
