Hi Cactus Flower,

I agree too many Americans are loaded for bear but end up killing humans...

I have no idea what Officer Wilson's motive was, especially since it was noon & two guys were just walking in the street.
Hardly seems significant enough to warrant stopping the car, let alone have the ending it did.

On another subject, I've learned NFL commissioner Goodell salary w/bonuses was $44.2 million in 2012!
IMO this is obscene!
I'll be surprised if he keeps this cushy position...

hi clo,

i used fleeing felon as an example of a general issue. i wasn't attributing it to brown in particular.

when the relationship between police and public involves either or both being armed, this kind of stuff will happen again and again. guns make mistakes fatal.

where the general expectation is that no one is armed, then when a person runs away, the police officer is going to run after the suspect. the consequences of mistakes are less extreme.

i have sympathy for the us police generally because of the dangerous environment they inhabit. but in this case, it looks to me like the officer made poor decisions which will have a criminal consequence.

don't know anything about his motives at this point. but the witnesses seem to draw a consistent picture from several angles that shooting this guy was nonsensical.
