WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will ask Congress to quickly authorize the arming and training of Syrian opposition forces but will press forward without formal sign-off from lawmakers on a broader military and political effort to combat militants in Syria and Iraq.

I guess the good opposition forces will wear white hats. The bad militants will wear black hats.

Depends how you define naughty.

When I was a part of the Green Machine I was taught that the Army had a long institutional memory.

And it still does.

There are still a few naughties over there needing remediation.

I hope the President remediates them all.

People who warn in advance that they are coming to kill you are extra naughty and should be disposed of expeditiously.

Fighting half a war is always a mistake.
