Hi Micro,

You are partially correct - I HAD a SSD drive, but no longer. It laster about 3 days beyond the warranty period, and took a dive on me. I loved it when I had it, they are extremely fast and efficient, I could not believe the reduced boot times and overall performance gain, it was great. The only negative was that I did not have a backup (my ooops, no one else to blame, I got too comfy with it) and it a TON of money to even have someone loon at it and try to recover any data.

As far as install goes, you hit it right on the head, SATA data and power, and other than the drive being much smaller, everything else is the exact same. Ghost to/from it, etc - just like any other drive. They do make little 'containers' that you can mount the drive in, so it fits in a standard drive bay. I tried one, and ended up just velcro-ing it in place on its own so it didn't slide around.

Don't be shy, they are very fast and if your experience was anything like mine, you will see a marked improvement in speeds all around. I think mine was 60GB, but it's been a while.

Hope everything is well with you, I'll give you a call when have some time and catch up, and catch you up - things here are getting much better.

My best to you, and everyone here !!

Mark

I know you have a SSD hard drive.
Is there anything special I have to do to put one ine my computer?

Do they hook up to the SATA cables (power and motherboard connection?)

Can I ghost my existing hard drive to that?

I am really very inetersted in obtaining one of these as the prices now have come down dramatically.

Of course, I do not need one over 40 GB, but would consider a 64 GB one for the extra space.

My entire system is under 17 GB which is why I said that.

THANKS for any info you can help me with in advance.
