sounds like even the germans are worried.

the germans are arming the kurds as probably the best bet for a viable opposition to isis.

hope the kurds end up with their own state.

i understand what you are saying.

but for instance, obama forecast his air campaign plan re isis, and so they are already vanishing into the civilian population.

next step is that the western isis supporters will use their new-found knowledge back home.

in ukraine, he's defined sanctions but avoided giving arms to ukraine or providing air cover. now putin has moved his tanks into eastern ukraine and the ukrainian army is being hammered.

the ukrainian situation at best is going to become a long drawn out civil war. at worst, it becomes the model for the further expansion of putin's empire.

obama doesn't set the agenda. he reacts. slowly. to me he looks like he's far behind the curve. and indeed, the bullies and extremists are gaining in confidence.

it is very worrying.
