The threat of withdrawing aid cannot be used very often without actually following up by doing it and Israel has a strong lobby in the United States that they use to advance their causes on a wide variety of fronts. In addition, although Israel has a strong advantage in the region today because of its military superiority, losing any of that advantage could place the country in jeopardy somewhere down the road.
To say that "God exists" is the greatest understatement ever made across space and time.
