Hi Alea.....

The peacock angel isn't Satan........the peacock angel is
Lucifer.....& Lucifer is not Satan, but that doesn't stop the
judeo-christian & muslim religions from demonising him/her.

Lucifer is the Light bearer, the Morning Star & in reality is
just a name for the planet Venus......the morning & evening star.

Lucifer is the aspect of Venus when it rises in the morning
preceding the sun,Hesperus is the aspect of Venus in the
evening when it follows the sun.

As Venus rises in the morning before the sun rises, creating
what seaman call the false dawn,it can be said that Venus
has stolen the light from God,the sun.As the sun rises in
the morning dawn,Venus begins to fall from it's lofty point
& dims in brightness in the morning sky.

We are talking astrology here, something the greeks & romans
understood......but then came the Judeo-christian religions
& turned Lucifer the planet Venus into some kind of evil
entity to be feared......!!

A 4000 year old greek would laugh his ass off what religious
folk believe today.....

hi doma,

the wikipedia page indicates the peacock angel isn't satan/evil.

"Some followers of other monotheistic religion jokingly or mistakenly re-cast the Peacock Angel as the unredeemed evil deity Satan[16][17], which has incited centuries of persecution of the Yazidi as "devil worshippers" by some followers of these religions."

"The Yezidis of Kurdistan have been called many things, most notoriously 'devil-worshippers,' a term used both by unsympathetic neighbours and fascinated Westerners. This sensational epithet is not only deeply offensive to the Yezidis themselves, but quite simply wrong. Yezidism is not devil-worship, but something far more elusive, and interesting. Non-Yezidis have associated Melek Taus with Shaytan (Islamic name) or Satan but Yezidis find that offensive. [32]"

Sounds as if perhaps in the Yezidi religion we are looking at something even older than Judaism, in which the original peacock angel was formed. Competing mythologies perhaps incorporated Melek Taus as their devil. At least this is my initial working theory.
