OCU;

We feel for the folks in Central America with their violence and oppression. It would be great if we started a Marshall-like Plan for our southern neighbors.

Permitting illegal immigration into the U.S. is not a solution, whether it's from Cuba, Central America or Mexico. Has it helped any of those countries in the past?

Why is then that Spanish speaking 'immigrants' escaping oppression and tyranny in Cuba are automatically welcomed with open arms and given immediate legal status? Please ask a conservative to explain the rational behind that situation. Or do conservatives think that there is 'good' oppression and tyranny and 'bad' oppression and tyranny? And I suspect that if you actually looked at the conditions in Central America versus Cuba today you'd see that the conditions in Cuba are not even close to what these recent immigrant families have been confronted with back home, yet NO one on the Right is saying that it's time that we started treating people escaping from Cuba in the same manner as they want us to treat those coming from Central America where the conditions are much worse.
