How many aged into retirement? Demographics are a bitch. I'm surprised the number isn't substantially higher.
As the year 2011 began on Jan. 1, the oldest members of the Baby Boom generation celebrated their 65th birthday. In fact, on that day, today, and for every day for the next 19 years, 10,000 baby boomers will reach age 65.
10,000 * 365 = 3,650,000 retirees per year.
Of course, since the stock market crashed and the Permanent Bush Depression began in 2008, many older folks have been forced to continue working.
