Well, the conference is over and I head home tomorrow morning (Saturday). The banquet Thursday evening was at held at the 'Museo dell'Automobile', the national automotive museum, which when you consider that Turin is the center for automobile design in Europe, the displays and autos that they had on display were amazing including the first automobile ever built, an 1893 Benz/Victoria. Turin is where the European coachmakers were located such as Ghia, who provided the bodies for some of the most famous cars, such as Ferrari.

This morning (Friday) we had a tour of the city with a stop at the 'Museo Nazionale Del Cinema', the national museum to the film industry, which was also very interesting including of course the building that it's housed in, the 'Mole Antonelliana'.

There's a glass elevator which goes up through the center of the building to an observation deck 220 feet above the street level giving you a 360° view of the city. Weather was overcast and threatening rain, but the view was still stunning.

So far the knee has held out, but I've had to do a lot of walking and there's no such thing as access for the handicapped here (both the Auto and Cinema museum had displays on three levels with only stairs available for visitors although I probably could made a fuss and they would have allowed me to use one of the freight elevators as I saw one guy in a wheel chair at the Cinema museum getting taken to one of their freight elevators by one of the museum guides).
So far the Vicodin has been a big help. I've been taking it immediately before and after these outings and it's made it tolerable.
