I think we'd have better success with changing unfettered capitalism. Corporations were originally intended for a maximum of 20 years and to provide a clear goal to achieve. This in perpetuity thing and having rights of individuals has to go.

hi orda,

plenty of folks hate regulations.

i think the us often errs on the side of what is called freedom but actually means rulelessness.

but if you go to the uk, you have the opposite. out-of-control obsessives in the department of health and safety who want to wrap everyone in cotton wool.

it's a matter of finding ways to make regulations effective yet not too burdensome. it isn't helped by people with slogans saying things like "government is the problem" or for that matter that "capitalism is evil". there's no magic wand. it's hard work to get things balanced.

but i totally agree with you that the us often leans against consumers and towards producers. and this causes huge problems. the only way to strike a better balance is to have an effective feedback loop. but that isn't working too well in the us constitutional structure.

rather than having a revolution, why not just change the structural document which causes the mess. why is that bit of paper so goddam holy?
