hi doma,

the conclusion was that the tail was informed by ice from the interior of the comet.

"In July 2005, the Deep Impact probe blasted a crater on Comet Tempel 1 to study its interior. The mission yielded results suggesting that the majority of a comet's water ice is below the surface and that these reservoirs feed the jets of vaporised water that form the coma of Tempel 1."

"By all accounts, the surface of Tempel 1 presented no better than 0.5 percent of the icy surface needed to account for the supposed watery output of Tempel. (The exceedingly small and thin “icy areas were about 94 percent dirt).

Jessica Sunshine of Science Applications International Corporation, the lead author of a recent article in the journal Science, announced the investigator’s finding: "These results show that there is ice on the surface, but not very much and definitely not enough to account for the water we see in the out-gassed material that is in the coma."

they smashed an 800lb copper probe at 23,000mph
into what their theory believed was a Dirty snowball
& found 94% dirt......comet tails are electrical
discharge events not water!

As for only force,we were talking about smashing
two objects together not the whole Cosmos.....
