Hi Alea.....

these same folks made predictions when they
smashed an 800lb copper meteor probe into
an asteroid & got all their predictions wrong,
where as the folks that got all their predictions
right about the same impact were ignored....

If they can't get it right today what makes
you think they got it right about an event
that happened hundreds of millions of years
back?

Meteor impacts are electromagnetic events between
charged bodies.......craters are formed by electromagnetic arcing & discharge......

If your model is completely wrong why do you
think it can make accurate predictions?

And why do you ignore the model that makes
accurate predictions?

hi faul,

the fact that not all biological questions are solved doesn't mean that certain astro-geological events did not happen. not sure why you think that there's a connection.

but i do know you are always sceptical of scientific consensus. which means nothing is ever going to persuade you. but anyway ...

re the cretaceous extinction event.

they have the geological record and the iridium layer which makes the impact likely to have an extraterrestrial origin.

they have the chicxulub crater to match it during the extinction period.

there's a broad consensus that the asteroid impact ended the dinosaur era.

so i guess readers will have to choose between the folks who study geology and meteor impacts and tell us what they think happened to a fairly high degree of probability and your belief that no such event occurred.

it isn't the scientific method if there isn't room for doubt. but it has to be a stronger theory to overthrow the old one. especially as the old one seems consistent with the known evidence.
