Jerad and Amanda Miller had just shot 2 policemen in cold blood at a pizza place. They ran into a WMT across the street and fired a warning shot, yelling a revolution had started. Joseph Wilcox, 31, was in line and carrying concealed. He told a friend he was going to confront them. He moved to confront Mr. Miller when his wife shot Him. In the heat of this deadly moment, did Wilcox forget these 2 entered WMT in a maniacal frenzy together? Who can say?
Wilcox perhaps thought this encounter satisfied one of his reasons for being a concealed carrier: to stop some bad guy, thus lending credibility to the LaPierre "theory." It didn't work. The actual good guys trained to intervene in shootings stormed into WMT and wounded the wife, who then shot her husband before killing herself.
Joe Wilcox's involvement won't be noted as a legally-armed, heroic killer of 2 cop-killers. This could have happened. But no. He instead has already become yet another grim "gun statistic."
