Good Evening Ribit!!
No criticism of OCU intended at all.
What piqued my interest was the very obvious racial predication of the study itself.
Surely they could have used more than black and white pedestrians.
Very obviously you would need chicano, white, black, yellow, red and mulatto pedestrians and chicano, white, black, yellow, red and mulatto drivers to get a fair impression.
I would also have expected a normative approach where the various pedestrians would step out in front of cars at dusk, midnight and sunrise.
Any study using an equal number of black and white pedestrians in a city with a population that is 98% white is going to afford the ignorant a fact situation that would seem to infer white motorists running down black pedestrians.
There is quite enough clear evidence of racism in this society. It is unnecessary to concoct more.
