OCU,
What obamba is trying to do, regulating carbon
emmissions, is a prime reason why we do NOT need
strong federal intervention.

We used to have an acid rain problem - mostly
affecting downwind states. Federal regulations
required 'smoke stack scrubbers' to remove the
sulfur dioxide from the smoke stacks. Dramatically
reducing the sulfur dioxide (acid rain) problem.

That was a good thing.

However, the 'man made global warming' is not proven,
nor is it 'settled science'. And, there is a solution.

Open Yucca Mountain.
Start building new nuclear power plants.
Build a nuclear fuel rod reprocessing plant inside
. . . Yucca Mountain.
Then start retiring the coal fired power plants.

What obamba is doing, is going to drive the cost of
electricity through the roof . . sending our
manufacturing jobs to China. Which is building new
coal fired power plants much faster than we could
retire ours . . .

And, China is NOT installing the smoke stack scrubbers
we did so they have a severe air pollution problem, and,
soon, they will realize they have a bad acid rain
problem.

In the mean time, the CO2 levels will continue to
rise.

This is a prime example of why we need strong FEDERAL intervention. This is something that could never be done by the states since there are no incentives for them to do anything since the pollution from coal-fired plants only impacts the people in the STATES THAT ARE DOWNWIND FROM WHERE THE COAL IS BEING BURNED. You can bet that if all the pollution produced in any one state effected only the people in THAT state, these issues would have been addressed years ago. But since the pollution, in terms of where it finally ends up, is someone else's problem, the originating state has no vested interest in solving the problem because for them, there is NO problem. Of course when Washington steps in, suddenly the feds are usurping the rights of a state and they should mind their own business.
