I heard this a while back, and our praise band has added it to their repertoire. I've heard and sang it several times. This Sunday, as they practiced it before church, it hit me - there is one line - And keep my eyes above the waves - that really stuck me. The whole song has a lot of meaning for me, but that line grabbed my attention like a blazing spotlight. The revelation that followed stunned me speechless for a few minutes. It dawned upon me just why we need to keep our eyes above the waves - it's because our focus needs to be upward and upon Him - not on the sharks, and alligators and crocodiles, and all the other nasty things that can attack from below the water. When we start focusing on or even looking for the sharks, we lose sight of Him. Keep your eyes upon Him and He will lead and guide. I thank you Father, for revealing this in these trying times and gifting me with this song! Please help my faith to stand!
