I worked with a fellow who had some experience in Afghanistan. He was an infantry officer in the Soviet Army for four years in Afghanistan. He immigrated to the U.S, and was recruited by our Army Intelligence and spent another few years there. I asked him his advice. He said "Get out". Nothing else, just get out.
