...the entire purpose of having the Senate set up the way they are was to prevent the large states from running all over the smaller ones. Originally the house was there to represent the people and the Senate was there to represent the states. Senators were appointed by State governors and there was no such thing as an "Unfunded Mandate". Then they fixed it so that Senators were elected by popular vote in the states. If ya add varying numbers of senators to states depending on population the senate becomes a copy of the house. There is no reason to pay for two government entities that are virtually identical in nature.

...IMHO we should be doing more about limiting the power of the presidency. Not just because of obonzo but because of whoever might be coming down the road later on. Im sure most of the folks on this board would be in agreement on limiting the power of the president if it was GW we were talking about.
