Just for the record, we have received NO internal communications concerning this potential Siemens/Alstom deal, which is not unexpected since it seems to be getting a lot of visible press so it's not like it's some rumor that needed to be addressed by management. Besides, unless you work in one of the Siemens units where Alstom is a competitor, which our division is NOT, it may not mean a whole lot one why or the other.
That being said, if Siemens DOES end-up with all or part of Alstom, it might be a definite plus for our group as it will just be more places where our software will need to be installed as we are Siemens' corporate PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) standard (Alstom is not yet a major client of ours). BTW, for the record, GE IS also a major customer of ours so potentially, at least for our specific division, WE could come out winners no matter who finally wins this battle.
