Good Morning Clo~!

GE shows up and suddenly Siemens is there.

No secrets here at all. Siemens and GE go at each other all over the world.

The difference here is that the French government might be happier with German Siemens than American GE.

With France being reticent about giving up "national favorites" Siemens might have a better chance of winning approval.

This has all the potential of becoming a wonderful war which will benefit all the shareholders.

It is an amazingly complicated situation as GE is a huge presence all over the world.

Doubtless all those jet engines for Airbus influenced GE's action, with the nuclear power plants, the high speed trains and the undisclosed military technology.

If Congress and the Commerce Department decide that GE is getting a raw deal here there is going to be a trans-Atlantic battle.

I suspect that the French government still has a great deal of control of Alstom and that the French unions have to be placated.

With foreign capital flooding the United States it is going to be interesting to see if there is a bit more reciprocity around the world.

There are Korean, Chinese, and Japanese companies with plenty of cash on hand to join a bidding war.
I hope GE has opened the floodgates.

Immelt is obviously looking for a monster deal to leave his mark on GE.

The simple solution would be to let Siemens and GE split it up and both sides walk away happy.
