WHAT does Jesus mean when he says that before Abraham was I am????
Going back into the Aramaic in which the original texts were written in, we find that the meaning of that phrase I AM means that HE HAS NO BEGINNING or ENDING!
This coincides precisely with Revelation chapter 22 where John writes that Jesus states He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning AND the END!
Jesus IS GOD! He and the FATHER are ONE! HE ALWAYS WAS and Always will be! THAT is why HE is the ETERNAL GOD.
The unsaved natural man cannot perceive or grasp this (the pharisees) because they see only with natural eyes and not spiritual eyes.
This same JESUS has power over DEATH , the GRAVE, and SIN!
He conquered it ALL on the CROSS and when he AROSE in three days in power and might over death from the TOMB! He said he would earlier. And He did.
You see, the one who created mankind, and every living thing from NOTHING, has power over life itself.
MAN is the only created creature on earth that has everlasting life, that is, life that will never die.
We have a BEGINNING BIRTH DATE, so we are not ETERNAL, or as Jesus said I AM ! We will never die though. Our spirit will live eternally either with the ONE who created us and loved us and died for us, or separated from HIM because we chose not to believe HIM, even as these Pharisees did.
They rejected JESUS as being whom HE said He was and is, The SON of GOD and GOD the SON.
WHAT will you do with JESUS?
Will you accept HIS WORD by FAITH and believe only in HIM or will you reject HIM as GOD and Savior as the Pharisees and burn in Hell's torment forever?
The Choice is yours. He does not force HIMSELF upon you. It is YOUR decision to make.
He loves you and died for your sins and paid God's penalty for your sins. He offers you free pardon and eternal life in Heaven with HIM! All you need to do is ask HIM to save you and forgive you and trust HIM and HIM alone, not any good thing you did or think you might have done. Jesus plus nothing.
Jesus PAID IT ALL. ALL to HIM I owe!
SIN had left a crimson stain! HE ALONE WASHED it WHITE AS SNOW!!!!
What will you do with Jesus???
