Good Morning KTC~!
I am not losing too much sleep over this heartbeat horseshit.
It seems to be another case of a "security company" discovering a fault in hardware or software.
Typically somewhere hidden in the first "press release" detailing how clever in fact they were/are in finding the exploit, they also announce that they did it in a laboratory, the data accessed is random and difficult or impossible to collect in a meaningful fashion, and of course, there are no known cases of the exploit actually being used. (i.e., not a single byte of data was purloined)
For Bloomberg to pile on adding the NSA to the mix is possibly nonsense.
The journalist approached a person "in the know" who immediately confirmed that the NSA used the software flaw?
In terms of the White House lying or telling the truth, I would imagine that as the NSA is merely a part of the Department of Defense, anything the White House says would belie the best interests of the United States, with no other motive.
What the capabilites are of the Department of Defense are best not served by public discussion.
The honest and true administration of government depends on trust.
I see no evidence that any part of the government has violated that trust.
There are many, and sufficient, safeguards within the system.
I am an old geezer as cynical or worse than most, but in my lifetime I have never seen my government act against the interest of that undefinable "people".
