...if there is a loan guarantee for a startup it will either be a success or a failure. If it's a failure you guys are ok with it, but if it succeeds and the investors make money on it ya bitch about how unfair it is and the loopholes and gubmint handouts for the wealthy. There is no makin ya happy. I bet you would complain if ya got hung with a brand new rope.

...btw: all the good military equipment we have is the result of trial and error and it has proven to be a successful way of developing new systems. Kinda like evolution. On the other hand, how much ya figure the social experimentation in the military (gays / women) cost us and when will we know whether or not it's a success in terms of victories?

I was trying to make a point.

Why is it that when money is wasted on military programs no one loses any sleep but when it's something like underwriting a loan guarantee for a start-up, which BTW was put together BEFORE Obama was even elected, that suddenly he's destroying the country? Why is a dollar spent on a failed solar panel producer more injurious to America than a dollar spent on a failed military program? That was the point I was making! And who's in office at the time doesn't matter a damn bit.
